Here I am. Wasn’t expecting to post today, but things have worked out so that I can.
Jim is doing very well. I got him home about 2:30 yesterday afternoon. Other than a couple of wake ups to eat, he pretty much slept until about 8 this morning. It’s made a world of difference in how he feels. He’s moving around very well, his pain is controlled without narcotics, and we’re both okay with me going to back to work tomorrow. There’s stuff for him to eat including some split pea soup and the cupcakes that are cooling now, so he’ll be fine.
I haven’t spun all week until today. Still working on the Prism from BMFA on Polwarth, and still love it. I’m about 3/4 done with the first half of the fiber.
Up until yesterday hospital knitting was a pretty plain vanilla pair of socks. The pattern (recipe really) is called Vanilla Bean, which is pretty fitting.
Really simple method of making self striping yarn look a little different. I’m up to the heel of the first sock.
Speaking of socks, the last test knit I did has released so I can show it. Not a great picture but you get the idea.
It’s another pattern by Terry, and it may be my favorite of hers so far. Simple to memorize but enough going on to stay interesting.
I have made more progress on the Magrathea as well. I didn’t work on it much because by the time I got home most nights I was totally whipped. I’m still really loving it, and this yarn is great.
My black cat has good taste. See?
Cards/Pirates is on, so I’m going back to yelling at the TV. This pitcher has really had our number this year, but I’m hoping we get him figured out today.
