I’m not a fan of The Doors, but today Light My Fire is running through my head. Maybe because the Vitamin D is finished?
I’m much happier with the longer sleeves. May have gotten a bit carried away with them, but if so I’ll go back and shorten them an inch or so.
This probably shows the color best. It’s such a gorgeous deep red. It’s called Spring Valley VFD, just in case you’re wondering why the hell that song is running through my head.
And that’s what the actual shape looks like.
I’m really, really happy with how it turned out.
I wove the last of the ends in this morning then threw it in the sink for a little soak. Rolled it in a bath towel after and walked on it, then repeated with a dry towel. It was still finished by photo time today. How? I used my handy dandy drying set up.
Cheapie folding rack I’ve had forever, and plastic window screen kit from the home improvement store built to the right size to fit on the rack. A fan on high blowing up from the under side and it was dry in about 5 hours.
The yarn I finished spinning last week has reached its new home and is much happier there. I’ve started on the next project – the Polwarth that was the first BMFA kit shipment. I like spinning Polwarth.
Who am I kidding? I just like to spin.
Probably no post next week. I’ve cast on a pair of socks out of self striping yarn for sitting at the hospital. Went with magic loop so I don’t have to worry about dropping a needle. Once Jim gets out of CCU I plan to go back to work until he comes home. After that I’ll just play it by ear. I’ll post updates here. We do have it set to require a login, but I’ve never had Caring Bridge send email I didn’t ask for so you should be safe.
Until next time!
