Little late today, but here I am. We went over to Bella Vista for the weekend. Jim didn’t get to golf because all the courses were closed – flooding. When we got over there about 6 pm the creek levels had subsided, but there were still greens under water. The height of debris caught up in the bridges was pretty amazing.
Which means absolutely nothing as far as my weekend went. I did EXACTLY what I wanted to. Which was spin. And knit. And swim. But I didn’t take a nap this time, which is kind of unusual for me.
Before we left I finished the knitting on the stranded tam from camp. I wove in ends and blocked it today. It’s not really well stretched because I just used a paper plate holder. Normally you’d use a dinner plate, but since mine are square that wouldn’t work very well. Anyway, it’s very cute.
And a side view.
I took the Joy with me instead of the Kromski because I don’t have extra bobbins and/or jumbo bobbins yet. Started spinning the wool/Tencel blend from Fiber Optic. I’ve never spun this blend before, and what a treat! It’s pretty slippery, but spinning thin and is absolutely beautiful. My picture sucks, sorry.
When we got home today I finished the singles of the swirl BFL from Gale’s on the Kromski. As soon as the jumbo flyer and bobbins come in I’ll ply it up.
And…no big surprise but I started something new. It’s the Stranded Surprise Jacket from SHP. I picked up the yarn at Camp and have been itching to start it. So… yeah. I’m doing the pattern as written, but thinking about how I might do another one.
Funny looking beastie, isn’t it? Stay tuned for more.
