Free Friday, Finishing Frenzy, and Flabergasted!

I took off Friday, because tomorrow is a holiday. I love extra long weekends, so I went ahead and took one.

I’ve used the opportunity to go on a finishing frenzy. First is the baby blanket.

I’m really pleased with how it came out and will get it in the mail Tuesday or Wednesday.

This morning I finished plying the Fiber Optic gradient that’s The Knit Girllls spinalong. I divided my 4 ounce braid for a fractal spin. I knew it was going thin, which would mean lots of yardage.

I’m flabergasted that I actually got 690 yards out of it. That’s….wow. I’m tickled to death, but now have to figure out what to knit with it.

Of course since I’m finishing things I have a huge case of Startitis. I wound yarn Friday for two different sweaters, but haven’t decided which one to knit yet.

The green is tosh Pashmina in Cedar. The red is LCK Pathways Sock in Spring Valley VFD. Both patterns are for top down sweaters. I’m leaning towards the green because it’s DK and will knit up faster. Not sure which will win out yet. Of course I have to put off starting because the next Six Sox test knit showed up last night. I’ll start on it after my snack. I haven’t knit yet today because I was doing the plying on the Fiber Optic. This is what one of the yarns I’m using looked like when I dug it out this morning.

Luckily it wasn’t as bad as it looked. It’s balled up and ready to go.

I also finished the Sportmate Cowl. It’s the second KAL for SSK. Used Luxe Grrl from Tempted, and it feels amazing.

And yes, Thomas loves me.
