It’s in the wash now. About to start the test knit for the February Six Sox. This is all you get.
I did spin up a braid of Merino from Unwind that’s been in my stash for quite a while. It’s for the second SSK KAL. The KAL has already started, but runs through February something. Since I’m just planning to do some mittens I’ve got plenty of time. I got exactly what I wanted – a worsted weight yarn. 210 yards.
The color is called Abalone and it’s a good name for it.
I did get some fiber from Miss Babs this week. I really didn’t need any, but was poking around her site and couldn’t resist the blend since I’ve never spun it before. It’s 70% super wash Merino and 30% Seacell, which is a fiber made from seaweed. And then there’s the color, which pretty much says it all.
Off work until Wednesday morning, yippee! I love my job, but I like these mini staycations too. They’re forecasting ugly weather for Tuesday, so we’ll see if work happens Wednesday. I wouldn’t mind staying in when the low is supposed to be 14 and the high 27.

I love when Channukkah is done before Christmas, but not too far before. I have only just finished my holiday, and get to relax, with the kids on break, and stay out of the stores
Tomorrow we will join all the other Jews for our traditional “Erev Christmas”, of Chinese food and a movie. (Erev means night before, as Jewish holidays start at sundown, and really does translate to the same thing as Chistmas Eve).

Monty is betting that if the City gets 6″ or more, he will get Wednesday off. My office mate is closing the office today through Wednesday, so it is really easy for me to decide not to go in. Gorgeous spinning (blanket is nice too).
