The evil gauge gremiln has struck. I kept thinking “Boy that Russian Prime looks a leeeetle bit narrow” but I didn’t stop and measure.
Last night I finally did. And my nice 4.5 stitches per inch is now a nice 5.25. I’m knitting for a 39″ sweater. At 4.5. Which means 176 stitches (well, technically 175.5). But I’m actually getting 5.25. Which means I have a 33.5 inch sweater.
Before I rip I’m going to try a very severe blocking, but I don’t think it’s going to help.
Cross your fingers.
And remember to go with your instincts when something doesn’t seem quite right….
Gee, I’d say that you could finish it the way it is and give it to me — but even I’m bigger than that!
It would probably fit one of the dogs. . . .

I feel your pain. I know my mishap wasn’t a sweater but it is still frustrating. I am hoping that blocking will fix it. Good luck.
