I finished the knitting before the new year, even if I didn’t get the ends woven in and the blocking done. So it’s a 2008 FO.

For whatever reason my color is really washed out and I’m not up for fixing it tonight.

It kind of reminds me of the Snail Trail quilt pattern, in how the swirls intersect with other swirls and form secondary patterns. It is very long, and not terribly wide. When I do the next class I may suggest people tweak the number of rows and the length.

We had a quiet New Year’s Eve here. The kids spent the evening like they usually do.

And since we expected a little noise and some firecrackers at midnight, they go to sleep in the house. We chose to made out the sleeper so there would be a little more room.

You see who was still smooshed over to the edge, even on a queen.
I just have a couple of smallish resolutions this year. One is to get back in the gym habit. At least three days per week, no excuses. Not even the shoulder. The other – and I can already hear the laughter – is I’m going to try the Only-Allowed-To-Buy-One-Half-The-Amount-Of-Yarn-You’ve-Used-From-Stash plan. If I use 800 yards from stash, I can buy 400. I know better than to include books in this idea. And special requests (like Tim’s for some slippers) are exempt.
Anyone else going to try some silly sort of resolution?
I like the Swirl as a pastel! Congrats on getting it finished! I try not to make resolutions, since they are always broken. But I do want to increase learning with the Basics course and Camp. Not hard to guess, eh?
Yes, I have a resolution for 2009.
I resolve to ask you how much yardage you have used from stash every time you buy more yarn.
Hey, beats losing weight and cleaning the house regularly.

Wow! This is really pretty Linda. Love the resolution…..is it possible??? LOL
The swirl shawl looks very lovely. I love the colors you chose.
That is a beautiful project!
Your swirl turned out lovely!!! I just ordered 36 balls of Shetland, but I get to claim that it’s for teaching and therefore they don’t count. Loophole!
