Unfortunately included a cold, hence the delay in posting. This morning is a fairly short one, but there will be more later.
First the news on the Squeek front. We started her on insulin shots last night. Hasn’t seemed to bother her in the least – in fact she didn’t even flinch last night when I gave the first one. Jim did his first this morning and she twitched a little, but he’ll get smoother as he realizes it’s not a huge deal to her. The good part is I’m left handed and he’s right, so we’ll be alternating sides of her scruff which should help with keeping her from getting irritated/inflamed/whatever.
I was amazingly good at camp this year. I spent less than $100 at market and less than $100 with SHP. I’ve never been that good before. I got four wheels of the Unspun Icelandic in a gorgeous eggplant color.

It’s already transforming into a stole – more on that in a later post.
Jennie the Potter was a participant and a vendor this year. I got one of her adorable knitters coffee mugs, which I haven’t taken a picture of yet. Maybe because it’s in the dishwasher so I can use it tomorrow…. Anywho, it was nice to meet her. I hope I get to see her again, I’d like to get to know her better.
I got more hilighter tape – there seems to only be one place in OKC to find it, and it’s at 63rd and May. NOT my favorite place for traffic. I’ll just drag it home from Wisconsin thanks…
I also got an adorable yarn ball drop on a purple thong. Also picless. Jeez, maybe this cold has fuddled my brain more than I realized.
My roomie brought me this amazing gorgeous stuff:

It’s going with me today so I can find a coordinating solid for the…wait that would give away my plans for it. I’ve got something in mind.
I did preorder M’Lou Baber’s upcoming double knitting book. She does amazing, amazing stuff. Just wait until you see it. I heard from Cheryl her upcoming jackets book is due out December 1, which I’m also looking forward to.
That’s it for now. I will post camp pics, including two “I misunderstood the contest theme” entries, one of which was hilarious and the other profound. It was, as usual, an amazing experience. I was a much more social animal this time, so really didn’t get much knitting done while I was there, and didn’t take near as many pictures either.
So glad you are back and had a wonderful time!! Can’t wait to hear “the rest of the story”!
It seems we’re all in the ‘slow to post’ category this year!
I made up for you in $$$! I bought the purple bun! Char bought the green and we are swapping 1/2 of each.
