This one has been very enjoyable, but not particularly restful.
Saturday morning while I was getting my stuff together and drinking my Instant Breakfast I was checking out the new Knitty a little further. I decided I really like the BYOB so I printed off the pattern. Speaking of the summer Knitty, Beverly is now published!! Major, major kudos.
So then I headed off to GYC to teach a Baby Surprise class. We had a great day, got everyone off to a good start, and agreed on a time for me to be available as they work through the rest. I started one too. It’s in a new yarn from Plymouth (or at least new to GYC) called Cotton Kisses. It’s a machine washable blend that includes two patterns and three buttons. Very cute stuff.

I’m about to start increasing, if you’ve ever knit one of these.
After that I went an grabbed Nina and we came back for Knit In. I got some Jeannee for the BYOB, and got started on it.

The original pattern calls for contrast stripes in two colors, but I’m just going to do the multi. Yes, I’m actually knitting something that’s primarily black. Not sure I’ve done that before, other than a couple of the felted clog pairs.
Speaking of Nina, big news tomorrow evening on that front. Stay tuned!
We had a great Knit In, as usual. Bit of a smallish crowd, but that was kind of nice. I sat with Jennifer, Sherry, Lu, Judy, Sue, a new (like two weeks new) knitter Sandra, and Nina. When Margaret realized which table she’d sat at she almost had a heart attack. Something about bad habits, scaring people, etc. I can’t imagine why she’d think that about us. Spent the night with Nina after.
Oh – Rhett smiling because he’s getting his itchies scratched:

Today Nina and I slept in, drank coffee on the patio, then got around and met Margaret at Pearls for brunch. Had a nice long meal, then they headed out to do some stuff related to tomorrow evenings news. I went up to the shop and hung out with Katie for a while, then went to guild.
Oh my. I f**ked up the first part of the presentation so terribly I just wanted to sink into the floor. Finally got my sh*t together and we moved on, and I was able to go back through everyone and make sure the first part was ok. I’m really a better teacher than that – my apologies to anyone I confused.
Been working on Moms shawl, and it’s pretty.

So that’s it. News and pictures tomorrow evening, probably after 8.
I wanted so much to take that class but had to be out of town…Hope you do it again sometime soon
