Yep, It’s Worth It
Monday, September 29th, 2008Had a little bit of a glove failure, but that’s OK. Took the dyeing class at GYC Saturday morning and had a ball! Plus someone else cleaned up the mess…

It’s now Monday and most of it is gone, but I still have some turquoise thumbnails working.
See?

That’s Fiesta Ballet that I dyed with some color of dark green, and believe it or not with “Gun Metal” which was supposed to be grey. I guess it is a greyish blue, but…it’s blue.
I also did half a pound of the alpaca roving.

I deliberately made it…not solid? Whatever the official color term is for it.
I think when I do it again I’ll be a little more adventurous about my colors. This could have benefited from a bit of blue I think. Not a lot, but a bit.

All in all, I really enjoyed the dyeing. But not enough to buy the stuff and do it here. Maybe Robin will share some of her food color dyeing tips and I’ll change my mind, but for now I’ll just stick with taking the class every time it’s offered.
Someone enjoys getting his butt scratched.

I love the tongue.
Then there’s Miss Innocent Who Me??

Ummm….yeah. You. Miss Yarn Thief.

Been mostly knitting on the Swirl Shawl. Right now it looks a bit like a kite.

That’s because I get bored with just going back and forth in rows. I’d much rather jump around. Besides, that splits the colors better.
Got the specs, and I’m thrilled. I didn’t realize how hard I was working to see what the heck I’m doing. Because of the astigmatism the prescription ones work much better than the dime store ones do. But I’m still going to keep a couple of pair around.
Retreat in 3 more sleeps. Whoo hoo!!!
