Birthday!
Saturday, August 30th, 2008Tomorrow is Nina’s birthday. We went to brunch today then headed up to the shop and had a bit of a surprise party for her.

There were quite a few people popping in and out.

Much knitting, giggling, eating and drinking going on.

Tomorrow there’s another brunch afoot at Pearls Lakeside, 12:30ish from what I hear. Comment me or check the August 30 thread in the GYC board on Ravelry for details.

So while I was at the shop I got one of the Namaste bags, in a pretty turquoise.

I wasn’t sure if I’d want one or not, but after getting my paws on one…well you can see the result. Last night we went to the BX and to Staples and I got a bag for the laptop and one of those little lap boards for using it on my lap. Big improvement there.
Also got some Jojoland Melody in a pretty purple/burgundy colorway today. The stuff is so soft…I’ve got so many things I want to knit it’s not even funny. Other than going to the art show at OCCC tomorrow or the next day, I’m just going to knit myself silly this weekend. Around the laundry and naps that is.
Been knitting away on the Apres Surf Hoodie, but the photo I took was blurred and I’m too lazy to go get another. I’m increasing towards the bust on the back, and it’s going pretty smoothly. It’s going to be a very pretty sweater I think.
Also been doing lots of work on the SOTSiii. I’m almost done with Clue 2, Clue 3 came out yesterday, and since there’s a completion prize drawing this week I’m going to try to get caught up.

Those non-stretched motifs are either snowflakes or leaves. I think probably snowflakes. I only get the special announcements because the project generates so much list mail, so I don’t know what everyone else is thinking.

I like my purple iridescent beads.
Please keep Jenn in your thoughts. Her dog has been very sick for several weeks, and they’re still not sure what’s wrong with her. She’s young and strong, but can still use all the warm fuzzies she can get.
