Knit Addict

You know, it doesn’t matter how many legs your kids have.  You’re just programmed to be proud of them.

You just know they’re the most clever

Or most entertaining

Or just best looking

Kids in the whole wide world.

No matter what they aren’t

Or are doing.

Oh - knitting.

I figured out what I want to do for the contest for camp, but I’m not sharing.  My prop has arrived though, and the dogs are really fascinated with it. Not sure why, but maybe after camp I’ll let them destroy it.  We’ll see.

Another pair of speedy socks.  52 stitches around…they just don’t take long.  I went ahead and did the standard decreased toe instead of the short row one I normally do.  The only thing I did a little different was swap the k2tog and ssk, so there isn’t that row of stockinette along the toe, instead they just…kinda…shrink. 

I have made progress on the SFSS, and am about to start the neck/shoulder shaping for the back.

And have knit a couple more sections of the shawl.  It’s officially past the center of the center panel.  Of course I think knitting the border on may take as long as the center.  We’ll see.

Trying to decide what to take to knit on the cruise.  I’m actually leaning towards multiple sock projects.  But then again…four or five air hours plus arriving early and layovers… I could get a looong way on a sweater.  Problem is I’m not sure I’ve got a UFO sweater that will travel well, and I’m really trying to be good.   We’ll see.

Oh wait - there’s the shrug thing that goes over the tank.  And it’s already in progress (and not blogged - I don’t tell EVERYTHING I know) so it won’t quite be cheating on the UFO Res….

Then I can switch to socks on the boat (ship, whatever) just in case they get something icky on them.  I’ve got my motion sickness patches, but you never know… ICK!!  Also got my ear plugs in my purse.  I love ya Mom, but you know as well as I do all those jokes about you snoring are based on fact.

My Cardinals are finally coming out of their slump.

Oh!  Cardinals!  We’ve got our Stitch and Pitch tickets for August 6, then some tickets from the Prime Seat Club for August 7.  I’m looking forward to the event, and will actually take the camera to blog it.  Also batted my eyes at hubby and can take the good camera to camp, so I should get some great pics to share.

If I’ve got any good knitting stuff before I leave Monday morning I’ll share.  Otherwise - see you all after the cruise!
