Catchy Title

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Since I can’t decide what to knit, I shouldn’t be surprised I can’t figure out a title either.

If you can’t decide - do something nice.  Like charity knitting.

I’ve got to admit, I’m pretty casual about the hats. Cast on until it looks like there’s enough. Knit until it looks like it’s deep enough. Decrease and finish. If you’re going from the top - increase until it looks like there’s enough, knit until it’s deep enough, edge if desired and bind off.

Sweaters are another matter. You have to have at least some sort of a plan. I had my gauge (thanks to one of those loosey goosey hats) so started hunting a pattern online.  No big surprise - I wound up at Knitty.com.  Decided on a pattern by Stephanie called Daisy.  Except I wasn’t quite getting the gauge she calls for.  She knit at 5 stitches per inch, I get 5.5 with this yarn/needle.  Did a little math, and went with the numbers for the medium and the lengths for the small.  Worked pretty well.

I still have to decide what to knit on next.
