One Small Step For Squeek

One huge smile for Mom.  Jim made Squeek a step to help her get up on the bed.  She’s taken to it like a cat with something new to climb on.  She lost so much weight, and must have lost strength.  She won’t even try to jump up on the bed.  Now - she’s happily climbing up and down and sleeping on the bed like the queen she is.  She’s also found her appetite and then some, is eating whatever we put in front of her.  And this morning she rescued some yarn.  :)

Two questions I get frequently from both knitters and muggles are How long did that take you? and How long do you knit every day?  My answers have always been honest but not very satisfying - I have no idea and It depends.  Well, I started thinking there had to be an application I could use, and I found it.  A little widget that sits in my system tray and lets me pretty much two-click start/stop a timer against any project.  I’m not going to go back and try to catch up in-progress things, but starting Saturday I’ve been keeping score.

Well, I did go back and add time for the Ella Jacket, because I just started it and could remember how long I had spent.  This includes swatching time - but 10 hours into it I have this:

That funny looking beastie is the sleeve and part of the front and back.  Remember, it’s cuff-to-cuff construction.  I only curved the needles so it would fit neatly into the picture.

I did rip the Apres Surf Hoodie back to the armholes because I wasn’t happy with how far in I had started the pattern.  Every 12 rows I’ll have a stitch involved in the decrease immediately inside my seam line, but I’ll be much happier with it.

And I’ve knit some more on the Flower Basket Shawl, although you’d never really know it looking at the picture.

I really like the look of triangle shawls and love to wear them, but goddess this is a boring pattern.  And the rows just get longer and longer as you go.  Oh well, it will be very pretty when it’s done.

Dogs are about to come in, so time to get the ‘puter out of my lap so it doesn’t get jumped on.
